Looking for fun and innovative ways to stay active and healthy this winter? Join us for the second annual All Seniors Care Seniors Games, Monday, February 7 to Friday, February 11.
We are proud to announce the expansion of the Games venues to include our new Residences in Saskatoon, Regina and Ottawa. Building on the extremely popular 2010 Seniors Games in Edmonton, Brandon, Winnipeg, Stratford, and the Gatineau-Aylmer area, All Seniors Care Living Centres will once again provide seniors with an innovative and fun way to get active and maybe bring home a “Gold” medal! Come and meet new friends and try sports and games that are good for your body and mind.
Last year participants made new friends and challenged themselves in new ways. “The varied competitions have brought together a new mix of residents, creating a greater sense of camaraderie amongst all,” observed one competitor from Cedarcroft Place, in Stratford, Ontario. Competitors also offered words of wisdom for people of all ages. Like these from participants at Sturgeon Creek Retirement Residence in Winnipeg: “You can’t start over so keep looking ahead and make the most of every day.” or “A smile means a lot and encourages one in return.”
All events will be held indoors with the fun getting underway at 10:30 each day and will feature a competition, awards ceremony, and a keynote speaker.
Monday: Go the distance in our indoor walk.
Tuesday: Take to the lanes with Wii bowling.
Wednesday: Compete at card games and board games.
Thursday: Show us your swing in Wii golf.
Friday: Have fun with billiards and bocce.
Complimentary transportation is available to and from all venues. So if you need a lift please call us to arrange for our shuttle bus to pick you up. Find a facility on our website and click for the desired location and phone number!
We also invite you to join with local dignitaries for our official ceremonies:
Opening Ceremony: Monday, February 7
Closing Ceremony: Friday, February 11
“The Games are part of our commitment to provide seniors with innovative ways to maintain an active and vibrant lifestyle. Research has proven the many benefits to older adults of keeping physically and mentally active, so these Games have been created to provide an opportunity for seniors to get involved in a friendly and caring social setting”, says Lily Goodman, Chief Operating Officer for All Seniors Care. “We believe strongly in helping people stay active by providing a venue for active living. These second annual Seniors Games are part of our commitment to providing a positive aging experience for all seniors in the communities we serve.”
