Preston Park Retirement residence, which opened its doors on March 1st, celebrated its grand opening on June 8th 2010. The grand opening and ribbon cutting celebration was a huge success and was met with enthusiasm and excitement from those who attended, including all levels of government, local spiritual leaders, community business leaders, staff and suppliers and members of the community. Guests at the event were treated to a scrumptious buffet lunch prepared by the head chef at Preston Park, Doug Mast.
Other highlights of the event included congratulatory words and well wishes from the Honourable Don Morgan, Justice Minister and his Worship, Mayor Donald Atchison. The end of the celebration was marked with blessings from Father Sengal, Cantor Schwartz, Pastor Balzer and a drumming ceremony performed by Elder Don Speidel. The blessings ended the grand opening ceremony on a high note, leaving everyone with feelings of community and fellowship.
Everyone in attendance was invited to tour the 162 suite luxury retirement residence, located next to the Market Mall Shopping Centre. Guests were visibly impressed by the warm and inviting atmosphere of Preston Park, which offers an elegant central dining room, daily chef prepared meals, indoor pool, spa, and fitness centre, library, games room, and beautifully landscaped grounds, just to name a few of the many amenities.
