Mrs. Ida Minchau had the bocce ball the very first time in her hands and she won a bronze medal,

Mrs. Ida said, “If I can do it everyone can and I will make sure that I come back.”

We were joined by local dignitaries M.P James Rajotte and M.L.A. Dave Hancock they spoke a few words, greeted our residents and visitors, congratulated them on a good work and reminded them that is never too late to live a healthful lifestyle.

Our competition at Summerwood Village saw well attended tournaments for both billiards and bocce: we had 22 billiards players and 17 bocce competitors at our tournaments.

We had a great set up in our Theatre Room for bocce ball and lots of residents cheering on our participants. It was a very close competition and a tight score for 1st place ; 46 for first and 47 for second!

Our billiard players had a long day of competition due to so many participants. We had 5 rounds to break a couple ties. Our first, second and third place winners deserve their medals!

Our competitors will be joined by local dignatiries Mayor Kathy Oleson and with councillor Peter Wlodarczak. Sherwood Park News came to catch in on some of the action and hoping Global News will be here for our closing ceremonies. Party Pals is our entertainment for our closing ceremonies tonight as well!

“I hope these Senior Games turn into a yearly tradition from now on.”

Dennis Newman
