Welcome to the All Seniors Care Living Centres Ltd. 2010 Seniors Games.
Looking for fun and innovative ways to stay active and healthy? Join us for the first annual All Seniors Care Seniors Games, taking place at 13 All Seniors Care residences across Canada Monday, January 25 to Friday, January 29.
If you are a senior in Edmonton, Brandon, Winnipeg, Stratford, or the Gatineau-Aylmer area, we are excited to provide you with a creative and fun way to get active and maybe win yourself a medal! Come and meet new friends and compete in sports and games that are good for your body and mind.
The Games are part of our commitment to provide seniors with innovative ways to develop and maintain an active and vibrant lifestyle. We know that research has proven the many benefits to older adults of keeping physically and mentally active. The Seniors Games will provide an opportunity for seniors to “get into the game” in a friendly and caring social setting.
Exercise can extend the life of older adults, and the Seniors Games will feature popular “virtual” games – Wii bowling and golf – that people of all abilities can play. We are excited to present these innovative games so participants can find out firsthand how they can help improve their fitness levels.
All events will be held indoors, in our safe and state-of-the-art living centres.
Here is our list of events. The fun gets underway at 10:30 each day.
- Monday: Go the distance in our indoor walk.
- Tuesday: Take to the lanes with Wii bowling.
- Wednesday: Compete at card games and board games.
- Thursday: Show us your swing in Wii golf.
- Friday: Have fun with billiards and bocce.
Each day will feature a competition, awards ceremony, and a keynote speaker. Participants and guests will be served a healthy lunch in our dining room.
