At Seine River we had 80 walkers trekking through the halls, putting themselves to the test to see what their final distance would be.
Most of our walkers completed the four laps and were able to walk the entire route. Goldie, the mascot of the Goldeyes Baseball Team, led the way and water table volunteers including Ken Crowston of the Goldeyes, and Sam Fabro, Hall of Famer, kept the many participants hydrated and cheered them on.
We were joined at the event by the honourable Mayor, Sam Katz, Rod Bruinooge, Christine Melnick, Theresa Oswald, Gord Steeves, all of whom brought greetings from their respective constituencies. Chrissy Troy from Hot 103 FM was our MC for the opening ceremony. We had a special visit and we were flattered to have an actual Olympic Torch ignite our Senior Games. We thank them for coming out and supporting this event.
“This event is a first of its kind and we congratulate All Seniors Care on their forward thinking and dedication to healthy living for older adults” said Mayor Sam Katz.
