BILLIARDS AND BOCCE – WE CAME TO PLAY ON DAY 3

Posted

Day 3 of the 2016 All Seniors Care Seniors Games was exciting across the country today, as Billiards and Bocce tournaments were contested. With more than 250 competitors battling it out for medals and bragging rights, the day was full of tension, excitement, cheers and laughter. “Everyone is having so much fun with the various games, I’m going to sign up for more events next year!” exclaimed Mrs. F. at College Park Retirement Residence in Regina.

During the Bocce tournament, one Winnipeg resident summed up the spirit of the Games well: when cousins Mr. T. and Mr. B. were embroiled in a tight match and Mr. B. said “we’ve been competing since we were kids, why stop now, its fun” In the end it was Mr. B. who took home the gold. While national competitions were happening across the country, buildings also hosted regional sports. In Quebec Pétanque Atout was contested at the various communities and we were very impressed by their skill and talents, as witnessed when one participant observed “Mme. M. made 100 points in one game of Pétanque Atout…the place was so excited. That’s the way we play here at La Gappe!!!!!!!!!….”
