This is a first for us at Auburn Heights and we congratulate all of our men – and hope tomorrow will be ladies day! Calgary and much of Alberta has been under a Winter Storm Warning today, and we received almost 20cm of snow since last night! Many residents commented how wonderful it was to be able to play these games in the warmth and comfort of their home, while watching the snow fall beautifully outside. Due to the weather and road conditions in Calgary, the CNIB (Canadian National Institute for the Blind) were unable to attend our Medal Ceremony today, but the residents found the pamphlets and information table very informative. Executive Director Dorothy Britten stepped in to congratulate the winning athletes on their performances and award the medals. Wii Golf athlete Frank O’Brien reminded us all how nice it was that “we could play golf inside while there’s a winter storm happening outside!”
