Thousands of seniors from Edmonton to Ottawa/ Gatineau (and Saskatoon, Regina, Brandon, Winnipeg and Stratford in between), will be walking and “Wii-ing”, playing bocce, shuffleboard, billiards and board games in an environment of friendly competition while staying healthy and having fun during the winter months! “The Games have become an annual showcase of the active and vibrant lifestyle our residents enjoy,” explains Joshua Kuhl, Senior Executive VP of Operations for All Seniors Care. “Our entire company is proud to provide this annual weeklong event for seniors to stay active in a friendly and caring social setting.” All events will be held indoors, with the fun getting underway at around 10:30am each day and will feature a competition, awards ceremony, food and special guests. Day 1: Walking The Hallways Day 2: Wii Bowling Day 3: Billiards and Bocce Day 4: Wii Golf & Shuffleboard Day 5: Card & Board Games Last year’s Bocce Gold medalist, Lloyd Brown from Winnipeg, turned 100 a few days after the Games and will be defending his medal at almost 101 years of age. Lloyd seems to be an inspiration to other centenarians as we will be celebrating 100 Birthdays by four other athletes at this year’s Games. From Residences de la Gappe in Gatineau Madame Yvette Gauthier and Mrs. Dora Cright will turn 100 in May while both Marie- rose Aline Lontin from Chateau Symmes in Aylmer and Mrs. Clara Fahlman from College Park in Regina will be Centenarian athletes in February. Each will be recognized for this special accomplished during the Games by a special toast, given by the Chef de Mission.
